Did you catch the Billboard Awards last night?
It was great night filled with emotions, fire performances and political activism. And Billboard announced a new award: The Billboard Change Maker Award.
The award is designated to an artist or group that "speaks truth to power through their music and celebrity." Killer Mike, of hip-hop duo Run The Jewels, was the inaugural recipient of the award. He received the honor for his work in encouraging more voter registration in the Black community, as well as his work with creating more opportunities for Black owned businesses.
