DJ Khaled was rewarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, April 11, 2022, in Los Angles, California. The producer was surrounded by friends such as Jay Z, Diddy, Fat Joe and more, plus family, his wife, Nicole Tuck,, and his sons when receiving the award.
According to the Billboard article published by Fred Sahai, Fat Joe takes the podium and gave his speech about Khaled, “When I met him, he made me move out of New York to Miami. When I think of Khaled, I think of love. That’s the only reason why you see the heavyweights here like you see them.”
He then added, “In hip-hop, for a long time, we haven’t really embraced fatherhood. Nobody has done it like Khaled. And music-wise, there's nobody with a greater ear.” according to the Variety article published by Thania Garcia.
Later Diddy gave a speech recalling a conversation and the awardee's work ethic stated. “I remember that day when you told me, ‘They don’t believe me, Puff.’ I was like ‘Khaled, what are you talking about? You’re doing great, you’re the vice president of A&R.’ And you were said, ‘But they don’t believe me.’ … I remember from that day, you worked all the way up. … You’re a pioneer; you’re an icon and a brilliant businessman. But most importantly, you’re a great friend to all of us here — a great father, a great husband, and one of the greatest people I’ve ever met. Your energy and your work ethic is unmatched, we celebrate you for everything.”
Khaled gave his speech stating, “There’s only one Khaled, that’s all I gotta say.” and ended with “We the best — it’s not just me it’s we.”Khaled also shared pictures on his Instagram of the event.
