The relationship between women and Hip Hop is one that is forever growing and evolving. A lot has changed in the past few decades. We have plenty of ladies who've paved the way for women in the rap game: in the 90's and early 2000's we had Left Eye, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliot, Lil' Kim, Queen Latifah; in the 2010's we've had Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and Tierra Whack.
Now it's a new decade, and with that comes a new group of women to take over the game.
We're not saying we're psychics, but we're pretty sure we've found them.
These ladies have defied the odds stacked against them and are pushing their fellow women out of the rap "box" they've been shoved in to. So here's to the mothers in the game, the ones that don't conform, and the ones that can do it all.
